Audit annual plan: from checklist to value creation

The VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity) world is manifesting itself in full force. Uncertainty trumps uncertainty in the boardrooms of organizations. If there is one time when Internal Audit can become relevant (as a trusted advisor), it is now. Only focus on "standard" topics and processes by Internal Audit is no longer enough. But what then? The following questions arise:

• What topics belong in the audit annual plan that add more value in this turbulent world?
• How do you arrive at these choices substantiated?
• And what implications does this have for the Internal Audit Department?

During this meeting, Drs. Marc van Heese RO RE CIA will present his views on an alternative approach to the annual plan. Marc has been active within Internal Audit and risk management for almost 30 years, for a long time as interim CAE and sparring partner of CAEs. Marc was also initiator of the innovation committee within the IIA.

For whom.

CAEs, that is, final managers of Internal Audit Functions. Prior to this session, a short survey will be sent out on this topic, the results of which will be discussed (anonymously) in the session. We aim for an interactive session, in which participants also contribute their experiences.
