Audit innovation: stories from practice
Anthoon Haagsma (Sr. Auditor at UWV) takes you through his inspiring story about appreciative auditing, also known as "appreciative auditing. When Anthoon wrote his thesis for the RO study on this subject in 2008, the term appreciative auditing did not yet give any hits. That has since changed considerably. In the years that followed, Anthoon gained many practical experiences with a methodology he developed. The appreciative auditing methodology led to much appreciation from auditees and greater effectiveness of the internal audit function. The appreciative basic attitude works! Marc Lammers also emphasized it, as a successful field hockey coach: "To my knowledge, no one has ever won a game on his or her weaknesses."
